    Thomas Dowling PhD

    Co-Founder | Technical

    Tom is a remote sensing specialist with a focus on maritime applications and the use of synthetic aperture radar for search and rescue operations and the identification of hard targets.

    His career has spanned academia, government, and industry, including roles at King’s College London and the UK’s National Centre for Earth Observation, where he has collaborated with NASA-JPL and the European Space Agency. He co-founded Artio Earth Observation, applying machine learning to satellite data for environmental challenges, and now lectures at the University of Auckland, where he directs the Earth Observation Laboratory. He is a First Sea Lord Fellow (2024–2026) within the Royal Navy Strategic Studies Centre, focusing on maritime-space integration, AI for intelligence systems, and Pacific strategy.

    Andrew has 30 years of commercial experience across operational, management, leadership, governance, and ownership roles. His background includes public and private companies, a broad range of strategic and operating environments and international work, particularly in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and the UK.

    Ella Fascinana

    Co-Founder | Technical

    Ella is leading the SeaSAR component of Seascape, including reflector design, business development, and search and rescue operationalisation. She is a named inventor on three registered designs and two patents assoicated with radar reflectors.

    Ella holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Auckland. With industry experience as an engineer and GIS analyst, Ella has a specialty in geospatial data delivery and automation of processes. She brings strong expertise in CAD design, prototype fabrication, and search and rescue operations, applying this multidisciplinary skill set to advance maritime safety.

    Hannah Nguyen PhD

    Senior Geospatial Engineer

    Hannah brings expertise in geospatial engineering, with a focus on remote sensing and data infrastructure for environmental applications. She completed a PhD and Postdoc at King’s College London, developing operational satellite-based wildfire emissions products for EUMETSAT. She later joined a leading climate tech startup in London, where, as a senior GIS developer, she led feature development covering DevOps, data engineering, and backend systems.

    Her experience spans the full pipeline from scientific research to commercial deployment, bridging research-grade earth observation with operational, real-world implementation.

    Mahima Fisher

    Senior Data Scientist (Synthetic Aperture Radar)

    Mahima is a mission operations and data science specialist who uses physics, spacecraft operations and systems engineering principles to build target detection algorithms for Seascape.

    She is a spacecraft Operations Engineer at the University of Auckland, who has commanded New Zealand’s first space missions, including MethaneSAT and TPA-1, New Zealand's first 3U cubesat mission. She has written mission planning and orbital prediction software for the Mission Operations Centre at the University of Auckland.

    Mahima also served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force for 6 years and worked with Rocket Lab for 3 years as an avionics technician. She has a BSc (1st class hons) in Physics and Geophysics, with a research focus on signal propagation and processing.
